Tony Robbin: A Retrospective chronicles the artist's remarkable forty-year career from painting through relief sculpture, to light art, computer art, architectural-scale sculpture, and finally back to painting.
This extensive presentation includes essays by art critic Carter Ratcliff, mathematician George Francis, and art historian Linda Dalrymple Henderson, together with a collaborative remembrance of the Pattern and Decoration movement by artists Robert Kushner and Joyce Kozloff. Collector Norma Canelas Roth writes on the thirty-five years she has followed and collected Robbin's work. There is also an essay by Robbin on spatial complexity in contemporary films and novels, and a remarkably concise description of his evolution as an artist. A chronology, and a comprehensive bibliography complete the volume.
The 120 page hard cover book, with 47 color illustrations, is printed in China with the new wide gamut inks for remarkable fidelity to Robbin's paintings.
